Observation

An unlocked drawer in preschool classroom 1, is child accessible and full of art supplies that include small round white Styrofoam collage type pieces that poses a choking or ingestion hazard. In preschool classroom 2, loose and peeled back wallpaper in about a 5 inch wide section, poses a choking hazard to children. Cords to power an electrical device observed accessible to children in Preschool 1 Classroom (plugged into a wall) that are capable of forming a loop around a child's neck poses a safety risk to children. A large kitchen knife observed left in kitchen sink, is viewed accessible to children as they have open access to the kitchen as the half door gate was opened. Adult scissors viewed in the classrooms are kid accessible. Both the knife and the scissors, pose a cutting hazard to children. A glass coffee pot accessible to children in the kitchen area, was observed full of hot coffee and it was turned on. Hot coffee poses a burn hazard. The kitchen door was propped open and the children have access to the kitchen and to the coffee pot.
